This Friday I’m back at 540 Club from 7 to 11 PM 💿✨

I lost my grandma a few days ago.
She was one of my biggest fans—
always cheering for the wild, messy, beautiful way I live my life.

Her favorite story to tell about me
was the night I took her to a metal show—
burlesque dancers onstage,
Throwing it back while getting their heads shaved four locks of love at my event… the.shave yer head festival.

She loved that story.
She loved me that way—unapologetic and unashamed.

This woman was something special.
Though I met her too late in life,
I’m endlessly grateful that I did.
She’s the only grandparent who knew me as I am now,
not as a child,
but as the woman I’ve become.
And in these last twelve years,
we built something real—
a bond born from grace, forgiveness, and time.

Thank you for never giving up on reconnecting with us.

I understand the circumstances that caused the schism,
and I forgive you completely.
It’s strange and angering
that 50 or 60 years later, I am walking through the same storms you once faced—
a world where women still fight men
for the right to decide what we do with our bodies and our freedom of choice.

I’ll always be thankful
for the effort you made to know me,
to reconnect with your long-lost family,
to love me across the years we didn’t have.

I’m so sad I am not there—
and I don’t know how long it’ll take
to forgive myself for that.
But one thing brings me peace:
you and my dad are together again,
no more borrowed time,
no more distance—
just love, endless and whole.

For those who’ve known me in my Burlesque life 💃✨—or even way back in my music days 🎶🎤—you know I’ve always been an anti-diva 🚫👑. I was an “ugly duckling” 🦆➡️🦢, a late bloomer who didn’t blossom until 25 🌸. I never expect to see my name on a “Top 50” list 📝⭐… but to be mentioned by the @21stcenturyburlesque Top 50’s Top 50 most influential in the world? It’s incredibly flattering 🥹💫.

One of my biggest struggles—and sometimes the thing that makes me feel like quitting (especially, with this cultural climate ) 😮‍💨 🌲 makin me want to disappear into the woods—is receiving flowers 💐, credit 🎖️, and respect ✊🏾. I’ve never been great at receiving compliments. But real talk me & my bestie Elyse 👯‍♀️ #Womanopoly 💎 have been holding it down for 14 #years 🔥 and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon ✨. Burlesque is the industry I love most 💖💃—it’s given me more than I can ever explain 🌈🌍.
